BW Healthcare Surveyors achieve an uplift in notional rent reimbursement for a practice in Devon.

Approach

Our specialist primary care team helped Cheriton Fitzpaine Surgery appeal against their CMR6 (current market rent proposal) from the NHS. We undertook a free initial assessment followed by a detailed inspection of the surgery before instigating a challenge to the Notional Rent on behalf of the practice.

We then entered discussions with the District Valuer (appointed by the NHS) and successfully negotiated an increase in the practice’s reimbursement in the following areas.

  • Increased the unit rate (£ per sqm) in comparison to other surgeries local to the surgery.
  • Increased the car parking rate (£ per space) in comparison to practices in the locality.

Conclusion

This resulted in an increase in notional rent reimbursement for the practice.
