Our specialist primary care team undertook detailed surveys and inspections of both surgeries and recommended that it would be financially beneficial for the practice to switch from their existing Cost Rent reimbursement to the Notional Rent scheme.
Following agreement with the Client, we managed all stages of the application with the NHS to switch to Notional Rent, following which we entered discussions with the District Valuer (as appointed by the NHS) and through the course of professional and constructive discussions with District Valuer, we were able to successfully negotiate a significant increase in reimbursement for both surgeries.
Through our negotiations, Otley and Debenham surgeries received increases of 68% and 41% in their reimbursement, respectively. The case was resolved in little over 2 months from the date the practice applied to make the switch from Cost Rent, to reaching a settlement with the District Valuer.
Steve Bloomfield, Business Manager at Suffolk Primary Care, was delighted with the service we provided;
The team at BW Healthcare Surveyors seamlessly managed the whole process on our behalf, keeping me regularly updated throughout. Matters were concluded extremely promptly and the increases secured were well above expectation.
The increase that we have achieved not only boosted the surgery’s annual income but is also highly likely to have increased the investment value of the premises.
