BW Healthcare Surveyors achieve an uplift of just over 7% in notional rent reimbursement for a practice in South Gloucestershire.

Approach

Our specialist primary care team helped Orchard Medical Centre appeal against their current market rent proposal from NHS England. We undertook a free initial assessment followed by a detailed inspection of the surgery before instigating a challenge to the Notional Rent on behalf of the practice.

We then entered discussions with the District Valuer and successfully negotiated an increase in the practice’s reimbursement in the following areas.

  • Increased the unit rate (£ per sqm) in comparison to other surgeries local to the surgery.
  • Increased the rate of allocated car parking spaces.
  • Increased the m2 area.

Conclusion

Our professional representation resulted in the maximisation of the notional rent for the practice which is effective back to 2021.
