CASE STUDY > Notional Rent Assessment

Kintbury & Woolton Hill Surgeries, Berkshire.

BW Healthcare Surveyors achieve an increase in notional rent reimbursement for a client with two practices in Berkshire.

Our specialist primary care team helped the Kintbury & Woolton Hill Surgeries appeal against their current market rent proposals from 2023 and 2022 with NHS England. We undertook a free initial assessment of both surgeries followed by a detailed inspection of both sites.  We then instigated a challenge of the Notional Rents on behalf of the surgeries.

Discussions swiftly commenced with the District Valuer who was the same for both sites, this greatly helped when it came to negotiations and an increase in the practice’s reimbursements was achieved in the following areas:

  • Increased the unit rate (£ per sqm) in comparison to other surgeries local to the surgery.
  • Increased the rate of allocated car parking spaces.

Our professional representation resulted in the maximisation of the notional rent for the client.

Karen, Practice Manager said, “Not the first and I am sure it will not be the last time I use this brilliant service. Smooth and easy process with honest friendly and regular communication.”

The increase that we achieved not only boosted the practices annual income but also increases the investment value of the premises.
